Sessie: Valuation 101: what is my company worth and how to determine this?

Tijd: 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

Session description:
Would you like to know the value of your startup or scaleup? Have you been approached for a potential investment/acquisition or would you like to offer your key employees shares and are you curious about a market standard-valuation? Or are you just curious on what return you could make on your equity today, or some point in the future?
In this one-hour session, Bas Scheele from torq.partners will walk you through the real dynamics behind startup valuation: how investors approach it, what factors matter most, and how to make your valuation defendable and realistic. This session is aimed at being understandable to non-financial founders and helps you connect the dots between your story, your numbers and the size of the round you’re raising.

Who is it for?
Founders who intend to fund raise, are contemplating an exit or are just curious as to what the valuation of their business is.

What is the key takeaway?
Learn how different stakeholders assess business valuation. For instance, a venture capitalist (VC) evaluates valuation differently than a strategic party (e.g. a corporate) would. During this workshop we will discuss the most common methods of valuation used by the different stakeholders in the startup/scaleup ecosystem and aim to provide you with a practical approach to apply these methodologies yourself.
